Superchargers can also be alot of work. Both N20 and a sc will wear the engine faster. N20 can be alot touchier but if tuned right it will give you the best bang for the buck. Either system will need a bigger fuel pump, with a sc you would most likely have to upgrade the injectors as well. The reason your friend was probably blowing head gaskets is he was probably running more boost. And if not tuned properly they will cause detonation, even with a intercooler. Because bacically its putting more air and fuel in and by doing so kicking up the compression ratio. So your gonna be running premium, and playing with the timing. But once its setup you can make some killer power. A friend of mine is building a blown 347 and looking to make 600fwhp.
