Yes, a new rebuilt trans still applies, but only if the synchro's were replaced in the rebuild, which usually they are.

First, a steel bearing retainer.

Second, Don Jr., of D&D Performance, a premier T-5 rebuilder told me NOT to run synthetic fluids, there is a compatability thing there with the synchro's, use Dextron III and to ADD 2 ounces of friction modifier when filling it for the first time, said it helps the synchro's wear in easier.

and third, an aluminum driveshaft.
