I ATTEMPTED a gear swap in my 95 and could not get the crush sleave to crush, so i ended up paying someone $200 just to crush the damn sleave and basically bolt up the carrier, i had a ford gear that didnt whine or anything so he reused all the stock shims, i think fords are the only ones that you can reuse the stock shims. and yes it is supposed to take 25 INCH POUNDS to turn the pinion gear(without the carrier installed, spinning just the pinion)
