Standard T-5 performance.

Mine did this when new and still does, at 116,000 miles on the original T-5, so not to worry. It's simply 'The nature of the beast'.

It's possible but I doubt you need a clutch cable at 13,000 miles.

Try the self-adjust first and if no improvement, consider draining the transmission fluid and replacing it with synthetic. It's what I use and it does help, although it's not a panacea for the sometimes-balky T-5.
