Personally, I was involved in the pursuit of a young man who took two shots at a fellow officer. You may have seen it on Cops two Saturdays ago when they were in Palm Beach County. My 2001 Crown Vic would not break 130. So yes, it would have been nice to have the 300+ horsepower of the Z28. Some people would just rather not see law enforcement have anything to it's advantage.

Geez this is why I would never make a good cop. I could'a been in a yugo and stopped that sucker dead!
