Select what you want, and make sure it's size doesn't exceed 140x140, and save it as a jpeg. Then, click on the user cp button (above), then select edit options. Scroll down, and you'll see the place where you can select Change Avatar. It will then allow you to browse your hd for the pic you selected above.
