A customer of mine several years ago called me one night all excited about this new idea he had. He wanted to wire a leaf blower into the air cleaner on his '65 Mustang. He thought it would be a poor mans blower. I tried to explain to him that it wouldn't work, but he just didn't get it. So, the next time I saw him, I had him open his hood, remove his air cleaner, and hold his hand over the carb while the engine was idling. He couldn't believe how much air was being sucked in, and then, and only then, realized that the leaf blower would never be able to keep up with the demand.
