1 second faster? Thats absurd!!!!! Maybe in a Honda.

Seriously, where did you hear that? Because you have to walk up that that person and slap the s**t out of them.

An auto is maybe 2-4 10th's slower, thats it. But I have seen many manual owners who can't drive well, so the auto becomes an advantage. Add a shift kit and chip, and you will shift faster the any manual owner can dream.
Then your only disadvantage is the extra power the auto robs while sending the power back through the wheels. A auto sucks up power, and thats its only disadvantage while drag racing.
My brother's 99GT Auto ran 14.2 the first and only time out to the track. There were a number of 99 GT manual cars running that time or worse.
