Check your fuel pressure regulator with one of those hand vacuum pumps. Turn your ignition to the on position but don't start the car. Jumper the fuel pump test lead on your test harness to ground. Fuel pressure should be at 42. Slowly apply vacuum. The fuel pressure should drop as you increase vacuum. If it doesn't, your regulator is shot.
