There seems to be a lot of people saying that they wouldn't ever ride a bike because of accidents like this. Have any of you ever been in a car wreck? I have and I still drive. I have also dumped my bike over and I still ride. And just because someone has a dirt bike doesn't mean that you can't get seriously hurt on that either. I hope your friend gets better, maybe next time he will wear at the very least bluejeans.
