I would recommend keeping your mechanical fan, and adding a temp controlled electric "pusher" fan in front of the radiator for when the stock fan isn't enough. Considering where you do a lot of your driving (at 5:09pm, it is currently 96 degrees in Bakersfield), you are probably going to want to have both.
