I've seen 75HP max be fine on stock engines, I know some people go higher than that, but I would think it would be risky.... As long as you stay at no more than 75 you should be able to keep your pistons in one piece...
As far as the CAI vs. Stock... I think some of the CAI fit into the fender and have an open tip... I know on mine, I can not use the factory box and filter or my engine will suffocate. Once I put on the new MAF/TA/Underdrives, the factory box made the car run like crap.. When it's open it's fine though... I just allow the hood to dump right on top of the K/N... I've never had spray though, just had friends that have..... they ran 125-300HPshots, but they also had forged everything...
