How fast in an R6?
I have not had, or been into bikes for almost 10 years, so I don't know which ones are the fast ones anymore.
I was on the freeway and had an R6 pace me. So I slipped it into the meat of 3rd, and goosed it. He dropped his gears and let me take the jump. (how considerate ) I stomped it through 3rd, shifted into 4th with him hanging at my back bumper. I wound 4th to 6 grand and let off. He never gained any ground. He wanted to go again, so we dropped down the gears, and this time he kept trying to take the jump. Well, he got the jump on me and I chased. The roles were reversed this time. I hung in the lane next to him at his back tire and never gained any ground. This 600 was pretty freakin' quick. I have run CBR600's (F2's, F3's, F4's), Katana's, and FZR600's, and have always had good luck. It was stock right down to the pipe too.

R6's usually run in the 11's at the track. Its the R1 that you have to wory about...Low 10's from the factory.
You have one fast stang! It must be a blast Later,

No, I did not spray him. I did not have the juice hooked back up until today. I trapped 123 mph with 40 less rwhp than I have now, so these bikes must be capable of around 125 mph trap speeds.
My 1994 FZR600 had the bolt-on work done to it, and would only go high 11's @ 116-117. These new bikes sure haul azz. |

My first bike was a 97 FZR, good bike. I had a 99, and an 01 R6. They can be a very high 10 second bike bone stock, usually lower 11's and they trap around 124-125 stock. I bet he was like why is he hanging with me? LOL, pretty awesome.....

Well my brother has a '02 r6 with a pipe, jet kit, and he geared it down 1 tooth in the front and run 10.80's at the track. It rips. I'd be using the nitrous if your serious about racing a r6 with a good driver.

Well, I've got 10 second mph, but the bottle should insure that.

I usually go to Ubly Dragway, or sometimes Lapeer. I have also been to St. Thomas Dragway in Canada.
I actually have no idea where U.S. 131 dragways is! |
