1998 were still mechanical on speed delivery. You can either buy a gear, or you can get a small electronic device that sits below your shifter and allows you to set jumpers to configure for tire height and gear ratio... I am a little under the weather right now so I don't remember the devices name... I think you can get it from Dallas Mustang online site
