A bad TPS won't prevent it from idling. It will only create problems when the throttle is moving.
A bad TFI module tends to act more like shutting off a light switch, rather than cutting out like it's running out of fuel. I would inspect the fuel pump relay, and it's connections. Take care, ~Chris
