I was trying to create a logical fallacy by linking the two statements together. The fact that it was reported on the local news that it was British research, and the little I know about England seemed comical.

Also, I love the English. Without them, we wouldn't have had a starting point to save the French in WWII. And don't get me started on the Bond girls. Only kidding, I was trying to get a rise out of someone specific, to no avail.

Seriously though, it's all in good fun, I hope. I don't understand people booing, "Oh, Canada" and I don't approve. It's unfortunate that so many people down here don't appreciate our neighbors to the north, but that's a whole nother discussion.
