![]() Um, there's really not too much to the CPS, dude. It's just a solenoid to control vacuum from the manifold to the canister. Mine went bad but I was patient enough to pull it apart with a Dremel and pliers, restring the copper windings inside, and Permatex the $hit out of it. It's still working, and yes I did have a code from the computer for it when it did go bad. Buying a brand new CPS was out of the question. Every place I went wanted $50 for the damn thing!
Check your vacuum line going all the way down to the canister. Usually they crack either where they run behind the distributor or down on the canister itself. After that, pull your codes and see if the computer sees anything wrong.
