Remember to reverse the S that goes around the crankshaft and water pump when going with a shorter belt. This will keep the belt from hitting itself up by the tensioner.
yah i had a problem with that when i bypassed mine, it was fine at first but when it stretched a little it rubbed and broke the belt.
All i did to fix it was to remove the tensioner, and drill a new pilot hole in the mounting bracket for the little nub on the back of the tensioner so I could rotate it counterclockwise about 45degrees
