Thumbs up

Tom351 has the best solution if you have the TDC tool. If not, simply rotate engine by hand to get the balancer and timing mark at TDC or zero, reinstall distributor using the marks you did make on what I assume was distributor body to the block where it slides in? Make sure the rotor is indexed at the #1 position and mark the inner part of the distributor along with where the rotor points to on the upper intake. If it fails to start, you were off a full turn on the crank/balancer marks for TDC. Pull the cap and rotate engine by hand to get the balancer TDC mark and previous marks lined back up as before. Now, pull distributor out far enough to rotate engine by hand to get the crank/balancer around a full 360 degrees and place it back on TDC mark. Put distributor back in lining up the marks on the rotor to the #1 position again along with relative position marks on the inner part of distributor and upper intake, and, using the marks you had already made on the distributor to block. Should fire up as the crank will turn the balancer 720 degrees while the distributor only turns a full 360. If you have a TDC tool, go with Tom351 method as it will get you right on it. Good luck...
