![]() 1) Chase the threads in the block.
2) Apply thread sealer to the threads on the studs going into the block. 3) Screw the studs in HAND TIGHT (very important that the threads in the block were chased/tapped first). 4) Place the nuts and washers in a cup with motor oil. 5) Install the gasket. 6) Install the head. 7) Install the washers and nuts. 8) Torque them, starting in the middle, and working back and forth in a bow-tie pattern, to 25lbs./50lbs./71lbs. in 3 steps (do all to 25lbs., then do them again to 50lbs., then do them again to 71lbs.)
