![]() Definitely sounds like vacuum leak, bent pushrods wouldn't happen from that..oils completely different system. Like the other post said, check the big line, also check so see if you put lines in the wrong places...get a manual if you don't have one. Brakes are vacuum assisted-so thats tied into the same situation. Also, smoke under hood, you might have just spilled something, does it smell like antifreeze or oil? Never had the problem on a car, but on a motorcycle once I didn't hook up a vacuum line and it seemed to burn oil, might have been pulled through the valve stem seal somehow? anyway...check lines! Someone above had stated spray WD40, this works forsure, but leaves a messy film all over! If you spray starting fluid around(not tons, this stuff can be dangerous) and the car revs, then you have a leak in the area you just sprayed.
