				 | Racing Lesser Cars? How do you guys feel about throwing down the challenge to slower cars? I generally don't unless the driver needs an attitude adjustment. If the driver's getting on it and weaving through traffic in a lowered car with graphics, body kit, and exhaust, well...he's a fair target.

				 | How can you tell if its a lesser car or not. The blue bottle is the great equalizer. You never can tell what people have under there hoods.

				 | How lopsided.......... I posted a thread not long ago as to this very question. I was advised not to risk a ticket racing slower cars by almost everyone. But when it came down to the get-go and the slower car chirped their tires, almost everyone blasted past them. Rev

				 | Drivers that think their cars are fast when everyone knows they really are not piss me off. I'll show them what's up with a nice smoke show or even a couple 5000 RPM revs. That will pipe them down. -Ben |

				 | I will usually race just about anyone up to the end of first and then shut down depending on if I have smoked the car or if it is keeping up. If it is obvious you have the faster car there is no reason to destroy the speed limit. When I had a slower car(87 Supra) I always tried to race faster cars just because I wanted to see what they could do, I didn't actually think I could beat them. I t was always disapointing when they wouldn't give you the time of day or at least get on the throttle a little.

				 | I do the same thing... I'll rev on a faster car and take off just to see it run/how much it will beat me by. Same thing happens to me too... just yesterday I had 4 guys in a brand new dodge truck(the one with 20's) pull up next to me and start goosing it and motioining me to go. I just shook my head and they kept up so finally I dropped it down to 2nd and left them far behind. |

				 | I would only race a lesser car if: I knew what he/she had and just needed to make a point He/She challanged me first with a bad attitude, or talking crap. Other than that, I don't take any car at face value, I have seen cars that look like the biggest POS you've ever seen, but... have seen them before at the track turing 11-12 sec times, you'd never think it either... I've also seen cars that you would think would destroy anything on the road, that end being beaten by a minivan driven by a soccer mom...

I hear ya, but I'm still waiting to come across a car (on the street) that looks like a pos but still runs a bona-fide 11 second pass without changing anything like tires, tuning, or fuel. Not saying they don't exist, just that I haven't come across one yet. Most imports that want to run my LX are usually on the freeways instead of the streets. Probably because they don't have to worry about launching and the torque advantage of a V8. Maybe they think their machines are more aerodynamic. Who knows.

				 | Another thing that ticks me off about "ricers" and other types... They don't seem to understand the idea of vehicle class, that just because two cars are equal in HP/TQ that they are the same speed. Also, in "real" racing you are pit against other racers in your own class rank... A 12 second car doesn't race a 13 second car, what's the point? give equal dirvers 12 sec will win. And, some cars are built for low end 1/4 mi type racing, others are built for 1/2mi-1mi racing at highway speeds..... Of course some mustangs will spank imports and other types, but what happens when you try to race starting at about 120MPH+ up, Mustangs don't exactly excel that high up...... I usually race in my own class and bracket, otherwise I let them do all the revving they want... Unless they just have a piss poor attitude and start talking trash on me...

				 | i don't really know what a "lesser" car is........ but if in the right mood, i'll run anyone who wants to play........if i've got a goldfish, eggs, or a tv or something in my car and am going home, i'm not gonna run anyone......... i rarely rev at cars.........sometimes i'll rev at an eclipse gst or a 94-98 stang gt, but that is about it

those stangs, particularly the 96-98, are a good match for me........most on the street are high 14 second, low 15 second cars........mustangs are a benchmark for a lot of imports........and its real fun when some kid or redneck laughs at you, then can't pull on you at all i don't rev on anything that sounds lopey, or i can hear a whine, or has really wide rears..........though i've been known to ask those guys to open up a bit for me
