$1300 Holy Snikees
If you can do the swapping, heres what id do. Either look at rebuild trans from parthouses or get a core from a junk yard and have it rebuilt. Cores costs may vary. I can get 89-92 AOD for $150. I just got a small block C6 for $75.00. Heck, walk into a Ford garage and ask if any mechanic would it on the side. Either doing the labor and all, or just benching a trans for you to swap. Most guys around here will rebuild one for about $150 labor, bringing him the trans. Soft parts are $60-100. I get kevlar clutches for about $4.50 each, think AOD has 18? I grew up kinda poor. So I figured out other methods to save what little money I had.
