Dude, everyone makes mistakes, no one is perfect. Hopefully you will have learned from this mistake. I know what you mean when you were scared **** less though. I ran up on a state trooper racing an older 5.0. To make a long story short I got a verbal warning after about 25 mins of sweating. I know I made out a little bit better than you, but I haven't done anything that dumb since. I think you need to chill out and just tell your dad as soon as possible. I also think you need to make your dad realize that you are getting older and WILL make mistakes, but will learn from them. Hopefully he won't be too hard on you, being this is your first **** up.
