your best bet is to buy a 96-98 cobra. that way you get DOHC 4-valve for relatively cheap...and if you got the $$ to spare then why not get a 99-up cobra?
Failing that, you should get a 99-up GT. both of these modular cars are faster than 5.0 pusrod motors if they are all mostly stock, and blowers do miracles for the modular motors. Avoid the 96-98 GTs (early sohc modular motors) because they are ssslllooowww unless you do a headswap.
