![]() A buddy of mine has a hurst short throw shifter that he used for a while, and said I could have it for around $80. I just want to know if there is anything that I should look for in buying a used shifter. Can it be good or should I just spend the money and get a new one?

![]() As long as there are no cracks, and it still has a smooth action, it should work fine.

![]() I would go with a new shifter like the pro 50 or the steeda tri ax cause the springs can where out making that 2-3 shift a pain plus they have the stops so you cant over shift and bend your shift forks and spending the money on a new shift is better then spending it on a new trans or a rebuild

![]() Your friend's shifter is probably fine, it won't be worn out and will have the stops....
It might be a little dirty, but you'll save a hundred bucks. As long it's not visibly broken i'd buy it, but i got mine for $50 ------------------ 4.10's,long tubes & 75 shot...Goes 12.50's Check it out at http://www.burnouts.webprovider.com |

![]() I have never used a Hurst so I can't really compare the two shifters, the B&M felt ok though, pretty solid but I like my Pro 5.0, but for $50.00 it is well worth it.
