![]() The fast V-tec engines are not really V-tec at all.
You fix it to whare the extra valves are woirking all the time instead of waiting for the v-tec to open them. Then you drop in an agressive cams. and ultra high compression around 13-14 to 1. You will have to go to a 4 throttle body set-up 1 for each cylinder. As well as have extensive porting on the head. Then you use a 4 to 1 header with open exhaust this along with extensive weight reduction is how most people achieve good times with all engine Honda's. V-tec is actually for gas mileage and not power, you remove the V-tec on a DOHC head and fix it to where all 16 valves are working at all times. I have worked on Hondas quite a bit I have a hopped up lil' CRX. Its no fun,
