yeah it is a good thing, the ridge is caused by the rings wearing down the cylinder, so it leaves a ridge at the very top where the rings dont ride. the dark spot on the very top of the cylinder wall is where the ridge would be. thats surprising to see that much cross-hatch with that many miles. you could probably feel it with your finger...if there is a ridge there.
