Adding the older style scoop ads about 2.5 inches of hood clearance for the air cleaner by the time you cut the brace on the bottom side of the hood and cut the hole through the hood. My buddies big block car has a scoop in it like that, the air claner seals against the bottomside of the scoop. So he has no "Lid" persay.
