I would drain the oil completely and put the CORRECT amount in. If you have a magnet let the oil drain over it as it flows into the pan. It will pick out any metal and tell you if its a bearing, which I doubt.

What is the oil pressure? If it was filled up extensively the crank was probaby hitting the oil. Drain it and refill it first, then go from there
