the dirt in the carb is why I said tap on it with a screw driver handle.. sometimes that will knock a piece of dirt loose..

as for body parts... you can always look for local mustang shows..
you can find hoods and stuff for pretty cheap.. I have a hood in pretty good shape that I'm going to get rid of but shipping would be alot...
