![]() Thanks to the good folks at Racer Walsh I have installed a few items. Here's the short list, fresh air intake with K&N filter 70 mm MAF and a TB from a 5.0 (adapter available from Tiny Avenger Motorsports). In the head I have oversized valves, a slightly higher lift and duration in the cam, and the local machine shop ported and relieved the head. The headers were not smog legal and had to have a fitting welded in place to accommodate the O2 sensor. After all was done the local speed shop dynoed it at 164.94 HP. Considering the original advertised HP was 105, that's a big improvement.
BTW, VW never made a type 2 sedan, the type 2 is the microbus/transporter. Type 1s are either the Ghia or the Beetle. Type 3 is the Fastback and Station Wagon. Type 4 is the 411 sedan which are seldom seen. |
