If the valves aren't worn I'd just clean them up a bit, if they are I'd got witha low end set of Manley valves. As far as springs go you could go with a dual spring setup for a bit more open/close pressure. What cam are you running? If stock go ahead with 1.7's they'll give you .33(.477) lift, and be a bit more agressive, with no interference.
Just buy a set of Ford Mtrsprt pushrods for you application.
