My theory is that if he had a 02 mustang he had a faster car than yours. the new mustangs are pretty powerful. you prolly beat him off the line b/c of your gears and he prolly wasn't good at taking off and shifting but when he got in the higher gears, technique didn't matter as much and the more powerfull car shone.
 Just my thought.P.S. You woulden't want a 75MM Edelbrock TB would you?
