![]() I agree with blue00gt, that it could be any one or more of those things.
Look for witness marks (scratches) where metal/metal may be rubbing. If all else fails, quite literally, empty an entire can of WD40 on that side and see if it cures it. If it does, you are getting warmer... warmer...
