if you were to just swap the engine out of a 79-93 mustang and put in a 351 straight out of a truck, the cobra 4.6l would be faster (assuming 99+ fixed ones). the thing is, if you were going to the trouble to swap engines, you wouldn't just do a direc swap, you may as well add heads/intake/cam while your at it. with a good combo, the 351 would absolutely destroy the cobra, for not much money.
