Need HELP! Fuel problem?
I have a 351, with Trick Flow head, Trick Flow Intake, 24lb inj, and a 190 fuel pump. The car pulls hard and strong through first and second gear, but third gear at 4500rpms the car noses over and won’t rev any higher. I started with 42 lbs of fuel pressure (vacuum off) (plugs electrode white) at 46 lbs. a little better but still has trouble in third (plugs electrode white) at 50 lbs. even better but still has trouble reving to 5,000 (plugs electrode white Last try was 58 lbs. worse, third gear would surge at about 3,500 that’s when I shut it down (plugs still looked lean) Do I need more fuel pump or larger injectors? or is it some thing else? Thanks |

How old is your fuel filter?

doubt its the filter or it would jerk and surge all the time not just in 3rd, but Its worth a try i guess because a new filter is cheap. my guess would be that its the 24#ers but thats just a guess. Good luck!

I am going to try the following this weekend;
Change the plugs and fuel filter Change the TFI Module Check timing and TPS position Install my pillar mount Fuel Pressure Gauge Install my 42 lb injectors ( saving until my T-Trim arrives ) Wait until my new 80mm C&L shows up If this doesn’t help I’ll post it again. Thanks |
