coming off my old post on mounting location for MSD6A, i think i might pick up a fenderwell CAI. are there any power gains with a fenderwell CAI vs. stock airbox w/ K&N filter and removed air silencer? or is it a waste of $$$?

also, can anyone posts some pics of installed fenderwell CAI's? i just want to get a general idea of the amount of room I will have to mount the msd. i also figured that a ferderwell mount CAI will draw more cold air than a standard CAI conical filter in the engine compartment, is this true? thanks.

With a fenderwell kit that goes through the stock opening will not give you enough room or less you mount it on the ledge below. Although I can recomend an Anderson Ford powerpipe that goes through the round hole next to the stock location. More expensive but guarantee in the long run you wont be dissappointed.

It was fun to install Took a few months, but I was doing a bunch of other things at the same time. I will say, It is the baddest sound I have EVER heard. Of course Kenne-Bell 03 Cobras are cool sounding too GhettoPop - Two Words, Anderson Powerpipe. Dont get ANYTHING else. They look mean, make good power, Grow with your setup, and can be had new for $185.

Here's the Mac I had. I wrapped it as it tends to pick up a lot of heat off the headers.

so do the Anderson and/or MAC CAI's make enough room to mount an MSD6A in that area?

it seems people like the anderson's better, i guess u get what u pay for. my stang is fairly stock, don't think i will need to spend the extra money on andersons right now, but still thinkin bout it.......

It should. The pipe goes throught the circular hole near the shock tower. It will need to be enlarged. You can put you MSD stuff right where the Air Box was no problem. I need to dig up a pic.
