![]() I doubt it has anything to do with the Victor 5.0 manifold. SBF intakes don't have or need a water crossover in the back. Look at a stock or Cobra intake.
Coolant flows from the water pump through the block (down both cylinder banks front to back, then up and through the heads (back to front), then into the manifold's front crossover and out the thermostat to the radiator. That's why when you install the head gaskets it's imperative that they are installed correctly with the water passages in back open and in the front blocked off. Sounds like you don't have enough air flow through the radiator at idle. Stock mechanical fan? Shroud? Underdrive pulleys?
