I ripped my thumb wide open on a plastic fan shroud on my dad's 81 Monte Carlo while trying to change an upper radiator hose. I was trying to loosen one of those damn GM hose clamps that you can loosen the screw all the way out but the clamp stays tight.

My wife, a nurse, came over and cleaned it best she could and taped it up with steri-strips, which are a surgical tape like that fiberglass strapping tape. I am scared of needles, so I didnt go to the ER.

It healed, but all these years later it still has a 1 1/2 in scar and just enough dirt in it that it looks like a jailhouse tattoo.
