AODs are expensive to build, also you need a valve body so stop it from short shifting second (That is what I hate about mine). Finally you will need a stall, Mine is a dog out of the hole even with 4:10s (stall= what rpm the converter locks up at).The stick guys can launch at a higher rpm, thus leave faster.

Basically for the money, you could bullet proof your t5.

If you do the swap, and want to get rid of any parts let me know.
