Did you change or disconnect any wires? If not, then push your door and hatch switches one at a time to see if you have a bad switch.

If you disconnected any wires in your search for the back-up lite problem, recheck for a loose connection upon reassembly.

I don't know if the back-up lites and courtesy lites are on the same circuit. Those engineers can come up with some doozy circuits.
