![]() An oil pump should NEVER be installed without fully disassembling it, checking it out and cleaning it thoroughly. Some will refer to this as 'blue-printing' the pump. You wouldn't believe some of the crap that I've seen in brand new pumps out of the box.
We always disassemble it, clean it and break all sharp edges/burrs, check the action of the bypass valve, check rotor play, cover clearances, etc. Its literally the heart that pumps the life giving blood throughout your engine.
