![]() We did longtubes on my car and a friend's car without dropping the k-member. Unfortunately the real pain is getting the bolts on the passenger side started and there are no tricks for this other than raising the motor. Having a friend with very small hands helps. When you raise the motor you just need to make sure that you are not hitting anything on the top side as you lift it.
The top starter bolt is kinda tough too. I used a combination of extensions and a swivel to get to it.
