The Torker II is a single plane manifold. It will work great for high RPM horsepower, but it will kill the low end. If low end torque is what you are looking for, stick with fuel injection. The torque from the long runner intakes is highly underrated.

Andy's right, I was having a brain fart. As a "general rule" dual plane intakes build power down low, whereas the single plane intakes need the RPM and high flow to make power.

Stick with parts that fit in your RPM range, fuelie motors are also known for low end stump pulling torque, but there's the added cost for all the electronics. Just keep this in mind. Don't "throw" parts together cuz it sounds good, or you like the name. You have to build a "Matched set", and you will be pleasently rewarded. Carb has to work with the intake has to work with the cam has to work with the heads has to work with the headers, etc etc.

You''l do just fine!

ok, getting closer to the actual swap, what i need is cam info.

will i be allright running an edelbrock performer 289 intake, a 650 off road carb and a stock 87-93 5.0? im not looking for top end power
(allthough i wouldnt complain) because i doubt i will ever have my foot to the floor(unless stuck im mud or something, truck is very unstable at high speed, or even taking off fast it would feel like it was doing a wheelie)

i just want it to be able to produce good power for pulling(a utility trailer with all my campin gear). it is going to have a compound low of about 180:1, so its not too important the low range power

You build a race motor, and put a tini-wennie cam in it. There was a boy from Texas that was on here a few years ago. He had a 302 with an ungodly torque. way more than you normaly see, his hp was low, but it worked for him.

ok, figured it all out, getting the motor tomorrow.

im running a 95 motor, harness and computer in it, and im going to leave it stock, or else im going to break the pinion gear, or snap axles(which wouldnt be a good thing considering i have almost 1200 canadian in the rear end ).

one last question is, can i run an inline fuel pump instead of an in tank? if so will a 155lph be fine(will i need an adjustable regulator, or will the stock one work ok?)

thanks

Yes you can run an inline pump, the stock regulator will be fine, a 155lph pump will be more than adequate.
