No problem with the Performer. The Performer RPM is about .125" higher than the Performer. The Air-Gap is about .75" higher than the Performer. I was just on the phone this afternoon with Edelbrock as to the various "carb pad heights" as I'm ordering a new Air Gap and a new cam as we post.
The plain Performer will not be a hood clearance problem. To check hood clearance, use clildren's modeling clay to make little columns where the suspected close spots are and then just close the hood on them. The compressed columns can then be measured to get the static hood clearance. Remember though that the engine will torque some, reducing the clearance as the engine rotates and flexes on the motor mounts. Rev
