If this is a daily driver, I would just stay with the 4160. The vacuum secondary feature is an advantage for drivability and 600 cfm is all you can use with any mild 289. I used a 4160 with an Edelbrock Performer for several years and it was good from idle to 5500 rpm with lots of low end torque.

As for the cam, I can recommend the Comp Cams 268. I used that one for several years. It makes good power from idle to 5500 rpm. I recently went to a somewhat more aggressive cam and intake. I still have the old ones. if you might be interested, just PM me.
