![]() It's possible for the clutch to be slipping at a higher rpm and you just don't notice it. With your engagement moving up higher, it does seem that your clutch is wearing. I once burned out a king cobra clutch in about 16k miles because I didn't adjust my clutch cable properly. If the person who installed the clutch messed up, it too could be on its way out.
If you want a clutch that you can depend on, I'd recommend going with a Centerforce Dual Friction. Mine is still going strong after 70k miles with an engine that puts down nearly 400 ft-lbs to the rear wheels. You will also want to install an adjustable clutch cable and quadrant at the same time. You really don't want to depend on that nylon POS. A clutch isn't something you should be looking to save some money on. Pay a little more and do it right and you'll save a lot of money in the long run.
