My converter is rated 2400 stall but I'm lucky to get 2000 out of it before the car moves. I know I need a better converter because on the street, it has trouble idling in gear at lights...it doesn't like to idle in gear at all...LOL
BTW, I run about 12 lbs of pressure in the slicks. I also do a nice burnout...John Force would be proud of me.

Yeah, a higher stall would definitely benefit you. A friend of mine has a '99 SS Camaro with a 3800rpm stall that surprisingly enough is very streetable because it locks up after about 35-40mph regardless of how much throttle he's giving it. A higher stall would allow you to launch at a higher rpm also. Because...no offense, but a 1.94 is more like a decent 60' time on radials.
As for the slicks. You could actually run them a little lower than 12psi., especially if you do a "John Force" size burnout, lol. Because the more you heat them up, the more the pressure raises, because they increase in temperature after the burnout. I usually run 9 or 9.5 psi. in my drag slicks. I too do a pretty healthy burnout. My slicks jump up to around 11-12psi. after I do the burnout. So, in theory...after your burnout your slicks could be jumping up to 14-15psi. It really helps to have someone checking your tire pressure for you before & after the burnouts. |
