I would change the oil after the first 500 miles, then 1k then 2k. After that every 3k is fine unless it looks clean, then go longer. Regular oil.
I start looking at my oil around 3k. Give or take a K I change it when it looks bad. Regular oil. I'll go 7k with synthetic with changing a filter at 3,500 miles and topping off, or if real dirty I change it no matter how many miles. Putting around and beating on your car will affect the time between changes. Use this as a guide.
